The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey
The Hobbit is definitely an new two-part epic fantasy movie directed by Peter Jackson. This is a movie adaptation of the 1937 novel of the same title by J. R. R. Tolkien as well as a prequel for The Lord of the Rings movie trilogy. Jackson, director for The Lord of the Rings, returns as director for the film and also serves as producer and co-writer.
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey follows title character Bilbo Baggins, who's swept into an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor, which was long ago conquered by the dragon Smaug. Approached out of the blue by the wizard Gandalf the Grey, Bilbo finds himself joining a company of 13 dwarves led by the legendary warrior Thorin Oakenshield. Their journey will bring them into the Wild; through treacherous lands swarming with Goblins and Orcs, deadly Wargs and Giant Spiders, Shapeshifters and Sorcerers. Although their purpose lies to the East and the wastelands of the Lonely Mountain, first they need to escape the goblin tunnels, the place Bilbo meets the creature that will transform his life permanently... Gollum. Here, alone with Gollum, around the shores of an underground lake, the unassuming Bilbo Baggins not only discovers depths of guile and courage that surprise even him, he additionally gains ownership of Gollum's priceless ring that holds unexpected and effective qualities... A simple, gold ring that is tied with the fate of all Middle-earth in means Bilbo cannot begin to understand.
Synopsis: In accordance with JRR Tolkien's The Hobbit, is the story of Bilbo Baggins, who is seen in Lord Of The Rings trilogy. The Hobbit follows Bilbo as he first encounters Gandalf. He is somewhat unwillingly swept off on an adventure into the lonely mountain to rid it of a dragon, Smaug. The dragon is guarding a treasure of huge significance that he had firstly taken from the dwarves who once lived there. A major battle shortly, ensues.
